Self Assessment (Shaun Of The Dead)

Evaluation:

We were given the task of making the sounds for a film using the art of foley. We recorded an array of sounds but for the sounds that we couldn't get we used some royalty free sounds, telephone ringing and background music from the internet made by Kevin Macleod, as a backing track to the clip. Once we recorded all the sounds we synched  them to the clip at the parts where we wanted the sounds to go and added sound panning and also we added reverb to the sound. We also added an effect were it made it sound grainy when he walked into the shop as it changed music to make it sound like it was playing through the shops speakers.

What I Thought Worked Well:

I think the background worked well through the entire piece. I think that we synched the walking up pretty well. The slipping noise worked well considering it was a easy noise to make it worked better than we thought it would. I also think we synched that well with piece. I thought the opening f the fridge noise worked extremely well.

What I Thought Didn't Work Well:

The noise of picking up the can was, admittedly, not the best but we didn't have time to record another.

What I Would Do Differently In The Future:

I would manage my time better so I could record all my sounds or choose a better sound effect if I didn't know how to make the sound.I also would make sure to upload it to drop box or email it to each other so if one of us is ill or haven't turned up then we an access it easily.

Overall:

Overall I think it went well. For our second project I think we worked well together and also we made a few mistakes but we can learn from these mistakes and improve on the next one.
